Dire Straits

2267, August 25th: After the fall of the ARMSCC and the subsequent destruction of Gliese, AR leadership knew it was only a matter of time before the Scion Empire reached the capital world of the Amalgamate Republic, Denov. On one of Denov's many moons, Rho III, the AR's 1st-10th Celestial Assault Forces participates in a massive ARN drill known as "Dark Hour". The drill was the largest combined arms operation by the ARN, utilizing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Fleet and subsequent naval infantry forces. The Celestial Assault Forces, who's specialty is ship boarding tactics and space borne combat, train alongside the fleets as AR high command prepares for an eminent strike against the 1st Imperial Armada . AR high command has deemed it critical and of the upmost importance to throw everything they have at the 1st Imperial Armada while it is still in orbit around the remains of Gliese. Prime Minister Taron Gerard has approved the battle plan to engage the 1st Imperial Armada and the capture or killing of Scion Emperor, Milo Balthazar; Many among AR high command see this as a dangerous gambit, but ultimately all agree there is no other choice. If they do not strike now, the Emperor could regroup with the 2nd & 3rd Imperial Armada and completely surround Denov, in which case the end of the Amalgamate Republic would be certain.
