Deluge

2267, August 17th: After receiving clearance from the GSJC, the Martian Survey team explored the ancient ruins of the submerged Firstborn city on the North Pole of Mars. To their amazement, they discovered three more sarcophagi just like the ones found on Duntana within a large pyramid sitting in the center of the city. As the team began to prepare the sarcophagi for transportation, they were ambushed by well-armed attackers. Their military escort was swiftly put down and the scientists themselves were taken captive. The mysterious attackers bore sigils of the Solar Blood Hands, who were tasked by their overlord to breach the research site and retrieve the Firstborn survivors slumbering in their eon long stasis.
